GYROKINESIS ® is an holistic movement concept. By combining lengthening and strengthening techniques, it works on all body structures to improve and support circulation.
Utilizing elements from yoga, dance,tai-chi, gymnastics and swimming, GYROKINESIS ® applies continuous and fluid movements within rhythmical breathing patterns. The exercises stimulate the nervous system, open up energy pathways, and support processes of detoxification through blood oxygenation.
Usually the class begins by preparing the body via selfmassage. The spine is then moved in its seven natural directions and an inner strengthening of the pelvic area is trained. The same movement patterns are expanded to strenghten and release the hip, knee, hamstring, quadriceps and other muscles and body parts. The training begins in a sitting position (on a stool) and moves into a standing and then a
lying position. The exercises can be done with all kinds of previous movement experience and later they can be continued practicing by oneself.
